Project overall objective To develop and diversify the Muezersky District economy through nature tourism development.

Project aims

• establish the pre-requisites and infrastructure for the development of nature tourism and nature protection.

• develop the "Reboly-Lendery" model nature tourism area.

Project tasks

• train entrepreneurs, builders and other nature tourism-related actors;

• analyse the socio-economic characteristics and potential for nature tourism development;

• develop the geo-information system (GIS) to be used in decision-making, planning, environmental education and awareness-building;

• perform environmental education and awareness activities, prepare training materials;

• establish a functioning network of tourism and development actors at the district (Muezersky District), regional and international levels;

• carry out the feasibility study for the development of the Inari checkpoint, including cost efficiency estimates;

• create a new information dissemination culture to fully realise all the marketing possibilities offered by the project.
